Gakuran Updates & Patch Notes

The most recent full patch adds voice chat to the in-game phone (you can now VC through calls), a new "walk" section of walk variants on the emote wheel, and a large batch of private-server commands and fixes. Players affected by the reroll ban can re-roll if they still have rerolls on their account, and can top up more through codes in the meantime.

Balance changes: getting parried now stuns you for 1 second, and the Slugger style was retuned to deal +30% damage (up from +25%) while only taking +10% extra damage (down from +25%), making it far more forgiving. Hallways are now counted as "areas." Fixes cleaned up double hit-sound and VFX playback, an unanchored object in the principal's office, an M1 combo that continued without holding, mobile HUD button layouts not saving, and an eraser-refresh spam bug.

Peak concurrent players hit around 40,000 in early July, and the official Gakuran Roblox group passed 2,000,000 members on 2026-07-07 (and has kept climbing well past that since). A bad update caused two waves of false anti-cheat bans in early July; the developers auto-reversed them and issued reroll compensation codes for the downtime.

The biggest story is Closed Community (CC): on 2026-07-09 the developers polled CC candidates and released a world-lore document, signalling that CC — with faction roleplay, clubs, and school events like basketball games and concerts — is coming soon. New behaviour rules were also added, such as trapping or holding players hostage now being a bannable offence.

The developers have previewed a full city area to expand beyond the current school map, a school renovation, and a lighting overhaul. The most-anticipated sneak peek is a new Japanese schoolyard courtyard in full sakura (cherry-blossom) bloom, shown 2026-07-10.

The in-game phone is clearly being built into a platform: previewed features include voice calls, a music player, a working camera app, and "Yenapp," an in-game Yen payment/transfer app. Cosmetic and prop previews include droppable headphones that play music others nearby can hear, and a skateboard with its own animation.
