Gakuran Controls on PC (Keyboard & Mouse)
On PC, Gakuran's fight kit lives on a small cluster of keys: light attacks (M1) are Left Click and chain into the 4-hit combo, the heavy attack (M2) is R, and F does double duty — hold it to block, click it to parry. Q is your dash. If you searched "how to fight in Gakuran on PC", that's the whole answer — Left Click pressure, R for unblockable damage, and a clicked F at exactly the right moment turns an incoming hit into a parry that takes zero damage and stuns the attacker.
The utility binds trip up more players than the combat ones. Left Alt opens your phone (the game's menu hub), T equips or unequips your fighting style, E interacts, and — the one nobody finds on their own — Backspace drops whatever you're holding. When another player is downed, V carries them and B executes or grips them. Ctrl toggles shift-lock, Shift sprints, Shift + P opens free cam, G opens the emote wheel, and Tab swaps your point of view. The full 19-bind table below comes straight from the official Trello Controls card.
Can You Jump in Gakuran? (Yes — Space)
Jump is Space on PC and A / Cross on console. This is worth spelling out because it changed twice: Gakuran launched without a jump, the official Controls card spent weeks stating "Jump: You cannot jump", and update v2.679 (2026-08-01) added jumping and falling animations back. The Controls card was rewritten to match on 2026-08-04. If another guide still tells you Gakuran has no jump, it simply hasn't been updated since July.
One consequence from the same patch notes is worth knowing before you try it: jumping too far down while carrying another player will ragdoll you. Carrying is otherwise unaffected — V to pick someone up on PC, D-Pad Up on console.
Gakuran Console Controls (Xbox & PlayStation)
The console map was rebuilt in the same 2026-08-04 card rewrite, so muscle memory from July is now wrong. Light attacks are still Right Trigger (RT / R2), but the heavy attack moved to Right Bumper (RB / R1), sprint moved to holding Left Trigger (LT / L2), block is now X / Square, and the phone opens with D-Pad Right. Dash stays on B / Circle, equipping your fighting style is a single Left Bumper (LB / L1) press instead of the old settings detour, and shift-lock is a left-stick click (L3).
The headline console change: there is finally an official Drop/Place Item bind — D-Pad Up — after months of the card listing none. The v7.856 update renamed that bind from "Drop Item" on both control maps, because you can now place an item down deliberately rather than only drop it; the keys themselves didn't move. Two quirks in the card are real and reproduced in the table below rather than smoothed over: Block and Interact are both mapped to X / Square, and Carry Downed Player and Drop/Place Item are both D-Pad Up, so context decides which one fires. Carrying and executing are now plain D-Pad presses (Up to carry, Down to execute or grip) instead of the old bumper combos.
Mobile Controls: On-Screen HUD Buttons
The developers have never published a mobile keybind table, and there isn't a hidden one this page is leaving out — on mobile, Gakuran is played entirely through on-screen HUD buttons for attacking, blocking, dashing, and interacting. Those buttons are real and even adjustable: the v7.203 patch notes fixed a bug where mobile HUD button layouts weren't saving, which is the developers themselves confirming the HUD layout system. If an official mobile control sheet ever ships, it will be added here; until then, treat any site listing exact mobile binds with suspicion.
Gakuran Chat Commands
Gakuran ships four chat commands that work on every platform. /Me wraps your message in asterisks for roleplay actions — and typing an asterisk before and after any message also highlights it in pink. /S sends a shouted, emphasized version of your message. /ooc sends your message cleanly with no effects or speaking lines, for talking out of character. The newest one, /w, is a proximity whisper: italic light-grey text that only players within 3 metres can read, while everyone further away sees *unintelligible* instead. Those four are the only commands listed on the official card — any other "command list" you see is invented.
Gakuran Controls FAQ
How do you jump in Gakuran?
Press Space on PC, or A / Cross on console. Jumping was absent at launch and the official Trello card said "Jump: You cannot jump" for most of July, but update v2.679 (2026-08-01) added jumping and falling animations, and the card was updated on 2026-08-04 to match. Note that jumping too far down while carrying another player will ragdoll you.
How do you fight in Gakuran on PC?
Light attacks (M1) are Left Click and chain up to a 4-hit combo, the heavy attack (M2) is R, and F both blocks and parries — hold F to block, click F to parry. A parry takes zero damage and stuns the attacker. Q dashes and Shift sprints.
How do you parry in Gakuran?
Click F right as the attack is about to land, rather than holding it. Holding F is a normal block that still takes chip damage; a clicked, correctly timed F is a perfect block that takes no damage, no chip, and no posture loss, and stuns the attacker for 0.45 seconds.
How do you drop items in Gakuran?
On PC, press Backspace to drop whatever you're holding. On console it is D-Pad Up — a bind the official card only added in its 2026-08-04 rewrite, so older guides still say console has no drop button.
How do you open the phone in Gakuran?
Press Left Alt on PC or D-Pad Right on console. The phone is the game's menu hub, so it's one of the first binds worth memorizing.
Can you play Gakuran on mobile?
Yes. Mobile uses on-screen HUD buttons instead of keybinds — there is no official mobile keybind table. The HUD layout is adjustable, and the v7.203 patch fixed a bug where those layouts weren't saving.
How do you carry or execute a downed player in Gakuran?
On PC, press V to carry a downed player and B to execute or grip them. On console, carry with D-Pad Up and execute with D-Pad Down.
How do you equip your fighting style in Gakuran?
Press T on PC to equip or unequip your fighting style. On console it is a single Left Bumper (LB / L1) press.
What are all the chat commands in Gakuran?
Four: /Me for roleplay actions in asterisks, /S for a shouted message, /ooc for a clean out-of-character message with no speaking lines, and /w for a proximity whisper that only players within 3 metres can read — everyone else sees *unintelligible*.
